The Chicks was first performed at Trades Hall in the Annexe Room, Melbourne, on 6 October 1999 with the following cast:

SHERYL ... Elizabeth Penny

Three young women sit around a table, discussing their personal lives. They have met to go to the movies and are undecided to which movie to see. The day outside is drawing to a close and the cinema is busy with moviegoers. The smell of popcorn and sweets fill the air. The girls sit, scanning the foyer for men to pick up, and to look at other women and their men.

Location
The cinema complex visited by our three girls is located in middle suburbia in a major shopping complex with a multiplex cinema.

Relationships
Jenny, Amanda and Sheryl are three long time friends, belonging to a larger group of friends. The three of them are inseperatable; one without the other just wouldn't happen.They finish each other's sentences, manage to insult eachother with a laugh and niether are insulted and know how to console the other without being over emotional.

This play is written with the idea in mind that no props or sets are required.
